The astrologer

Shri Sunilkumar S. Biradar

Belongs to a traditional Veerashaiva Lingayat family from Babaleshwar village, Vijayapura district, Karnataka.

His lineage traces back to Vatapi (Badami), ruled by the Chalukya dynasty between the 6th and 12th century AD. The family were priests and worshippers of the Sri Shakambhari shrine, and after the fall of the dynasty migrated to Vijayapura.

He began spiritual studies young, later graduated in Civil Engineering and works at a senior level in one of the world's top infrastructure companies. Coming into mainstream Vedic astrology from a family with no prior practitioners of this Shastra was a difficult journey — completed with the blessings of Gurudev Shri Pt. Sanjay Rathji.

After his 28th year, the Ruchaka Maha Purusha Yoga in the Moksha trikona activated. He was accepted as shishya and received Jaimini Maharshi's Upadesha Sutra. He studies Upadesha Sutra, Chandra Kala Nadi, Brhat Jataka, Brhat Parashara Horashastra, Saravali and other classics. Jaimini Scholar, Jyotiṣa Guru & Vāstu Consultant, 2018. One of the twelve Jyotirlinga shrines of Lord Shiva. Somanath means Lord of the Moon God Soma — the nectar of immortality. Soma is the essence of the Moon filtered through the tithi, partaking which the devata remain alive. For this reason the temple is known as the Shrine Eternal.

Located in Prabhas Kshetra near Veraval in Saurashtra, on the western coast of Gujarat — the pride of Dwaraka when ruled by Sri Krishna. Pauranic tradition holds that Sri Chandra built a golden temple in Krta Yuga; Ravana rebuilt it in silver in Dvapara; towards the end of Treta Yuga Sri Krishna rebuilt it with sandalwood.

Pt. Sanjay Rath (www.srath.com) belongs to a traditional family of astrologers from Bira Balabhadrapur Sasan village of Puri, Odisha, tracing lineage to Sri Achyuta Das (Achyutananda).

He studied under his uncle, late Pandit Kasinath Rath. His grandfather, late Pandit Jagannath Rath, was the Jyotish Ratna of Orissa. He received the depth of Jyotish found among those trained in the ancient parampara, later graduated in mechanical engineering, and left government service to devote himself completely to Jyotisha.

The website name jaimini-shishya was chosen by Gurudeva Pt. Sanjay Rath, to whom I am very grateful.

Family

Where the journey began

Father is a retired teacher (Jupiter) and mother is a devoted housewife (Moon). Mother is my first teacher of spirituality. Being an ardent devotee of Sri Shiva she sowed the seeds at a tender age.

My spouse

Poornima Biradar belongs to a traditional Lingayat family. She is a devoted housewife (my 7th lord Moon), hard working, with a lot of patience. She is the real motivator for both my spiritual and Jyotisha studies.

My kids

My 5th house and my real blessings — daughter Sunaina and son Jagat. Dwiguru yoga in the 5th with Yogakaraka Venus conjoining Jupiter. Both have Venus in lagna and a strong Jupiter connection.

Sunaina: Gemini lagna with Venus, Sun and Mercury in lagna with directional strength, forming Bhadra Mahapurusha Yoga. Jupiter with Ketu (Parampara Yoga) in the 4th and Moon in the 7th.

Jagat: Pisces lagna with exalted Venus (Malavya Maha Purusha Yoga). Saturn being AK and Shubhapati qualifies as Kevala Graha. Born in Sharjah, UAE. Named Jagat (from Jagannath) by Gurudeva Pt. Sanjay Rath. My Jyotisha journey started around his birth (Jupiter in the 5th).
